Hi, my name's Danielle. And on behalf of the College of Science and Technology, I want to congratulate you on your acceptance to Temple. The hard work on your part is done. You have convinced us why you'd be a great fit for Temple. And now it is our turn to convince you why CST would be a great fit for you.

Your application represented the desire within you to make a greater impact on the world, whether that's to help people through medicine or programming, whether that's to solve problems such as climate change or cybersecurity, or to further your education through learning about genetics, coding or going on to professional school. But your acceptance represents all the amazing accomplishments that you've already had, whether that was through high school, previous work experience or previous college experience. So for that, I want you to take some time to be proud of yourself.

This website is your tool to explore all of the amazing things we have for you at CST. Make sure to check out some of our videos so you can learn about our current and past students and the accomplishments that they've had, as well as our faculty and the contributions that they're making to society. You want to make sure that you check out our visit page to find ways that you can meet and learn from us both virtually and on campus as well. Before I let you go explore our webpage, there are three main points that I want you to remember that make studying science and technology at Temple unique. First is our dedication to undergraduate research. We are an R1 research institution, which means that our faculty are not only teaching in the classroom and from a textbook, but they can bring in their real-world experiences and the research that they're doing that keep them up-to-date in their field. Our faculty members love taking on undergraduate researchers in the lab. So make sure to check out some of our videos for examples of how you can get involved.

The second is our location. Our location in Philadelphia allows our students to gain hands-on experience while they're not inside the classroom, right around our area in Philadelphia. For some of our technology or physics or math students that might be interning at a top insurance or tech or pharmaceutical company in the city, and for our physical sciences students that might mean taking advantage of our health sciences campus, which is the home of the Temple University Hospital and some of our professional schools such as the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.

And third and finally, we're always coming up with new and innovative degree programs for you to make sure that you are in the leading fields in your career. We have two of our newest degrees. Our first, our bachelor of science and genomic medicine, is right at the intersection of evolution, genomics, bioinformatics and disease. This major is perfect for students who are interested in pursuing a pre-med track. And you're going to learn a lot about how to make predictions in the health field using our rDNA. And number two would be data science. With the data science degree, students will learn how to manage, analyze, track big data through machine learning to make predictions in all different types of fields.

We also have many accelerated programs, which include five-year plus one programs that allow you to earn a bachelor's and a professional science master's or a bachelor and a master's in just five years. Or accelerated four plus and three plus programs with some of our professional schools. This time is all about you.
