This is what it’s like to be a Temple student.

Students are always on the go because there’s always something to do on campus—see a movie, grab lunch at one of our famous food trucks, go to club meetings or just hang out by the Bell Tower. And, the city defines a lot of our students’ experiences. We’re only an eight-minute subway ride away from downtown.

Student Organizations and Clubs

Hundreds of on-campus clubs and organizations provide opportunities for you to join, lead and expand your horizons, make friends and have fun. There is a group for every interest—artistic, athletic, educational, multicultural, musical, pre-professional, political, religious and service-oriented. You can even join organizations housed within one of our schools and colleges, like Diamond Marching Band in the Boyer College of Music and Dance. And if we don’t have what you’re looking for, start it yourself.

Get a taste of what kind of organizations we have. Then, start planning what clubs you are interested in by exploring a full list.

Campus Recreation

Staying active is important to our students and we have the facilities to make sure exercise can easily be worked into any student’s routine. Through sport clubs, group fitness, gyms and more, Campus Recreation at Temple offers a variety of options to stay fit and have fun while doing so.

Athletics

Whether you’re on the court or in the stands, going to athletic events is one of the most exciting parts of the Temple experience. We’re home to 19 varsity sports teams  and all students get free tickets to all games, including football games at Lincoln Financial Field—the NFL stadium where Owls play their home games.

Meet Student Vloggers

See what it’s like to be a Temple student through the eyes of our student vloggers. They answer a lot of questions our students have and show you what their days are like.

Temple University Bookstore

Located in the Howard Gittis Student Center, our official bookstore is an essential resource for students throughout the academic year. The store is stocked with faculty-requested textbooks, learning supplies and other must-haves, such as personal care items, snacks, and a huge variety of Temple clothing and gifts.

Celebrate being a new Owl and use the discount code “HELLO24” to get 10% off Temple gear, congratulatory signs, pennants, and more.

Sustainability

Our students, faculty and staff are passionate about making positive differences in the world and working together for a better future. At Temple, we’re committed to being a leader in educating our community about sustainability and addressing our environmental impact. The Office of Sustainability was created in 2008 to model and build a culture of sustainability on our campuses.

The office works to integrate principles of environmental responsibility with the university’s curriculum, operations, research and service. Through policy and action, we have a profound effect on the health and well-being of our university community, as well as our neighbors in Philadelphia.

As an Owl, you’ll have many opportunities to get involved in our initiatives around campus and in the city. Learn more about the Office of Sustainability at Temple

Studying in Philadelphia

Going to college in Philadelphia means that the city is your classroom. One of the largest cities on the East Coast, Philadelphia has been home to landmark events, both past and present—and our students study right in the middle of it all. You’ll have hands-on, experiential opportunities that help shape your education. Temple is deeply rooted in and committed to North Philadelphia, the historic community where Main Campus is located.

Philadelphia is a hub of industry and research, and many of our students find internships and professional opportunities with local companies and organizations. More than 149,000 Temple alumni live in the city, so you can make meaningful connections to help guide you after graduation.

And, there’s always something to see and do here. Philadelphia offers a dynamic art and culture scene, restaurants and food, museums, music and theater, and much more.
