At Temple's College of Public Health and School of Social Work, students, staff and faculty come together to work on innovative designs and to deliver solutions for healthcare, disease prevention and social welfare. We promote research and scholarship, service and community engagement, and innovation and entrepreneurship in all that we do. In our programs, we address needs and create evidence-based solutions so graduates are prepared to deliver effective, compassionate care for individuals, families and communities.

Welcome to Temple University's College of Public Health. This college was founded on the premise that only by understanding how the health of populations connects to the health of individuals can we create a healthy society. Most of you chose this college because you're interested in pursuing a vocation that will not only transform your life but those of other people by improving all aspects of health, for example, as a health policy analyst, to make changes in health policies, working in clinical settings such as as a social worker or a nurse, or becoming a public health practitioner that works to mitigate the spread of infectious disease.

We are helping the nation recreate our health system so that it takes care of everybody. To do this, we need to have revisioned healthcare to be a coming together of individual care and the health of populations. You as students will be an integral part of this unique challenge, one in which many fields come together to transform how we are thinking about and studying health, and how we implement how we care for our communities.

Our mission then is to train you to become the next generation of public health and care professionals who can create the new knowledge and new healthcare delivery systems that will result in all of us enjoying optimal health and wellbeing. I congratulate you on your admission to Temple's College of Public Health, and I really look forward to seeing you at Temple.
