We’re a global university developing global citizens.
We believe that to understand the world, you have to see the world. More than 1,000 students study abroad each year. With campuses in Rome, Italy and Tokyo, Japan—and programs in hundreds of countries around the world—the global perspective is a critical part of a Temple education. In this virtual session, you’ll get to know our international campuses and how you can customize your own study abroad experience.

Temple University Rome
Established more than 50 years ago, Temple Rome is the longest-standing and most prestigious American study abroad program in Italy. This campus provides students from various disciplines the opportunity to study in central Rome for an academic year, semester or summer.
Courses taught at Temple Rome are specifically designed to enhance our students’ understanding of new surroundings. Many classes offer on-site instruction within Rome and excursions to other cities, and incorporate guest speakers and critics into the curriculum. Students often complete internships or volunteer with local communities while in Italy, so working for an Italian design company or teaching Italian children English after class is a very real possibility.
Temple Rome Entry Year
Are you starting your Temple education in Rome? We can’t wait to see you in Italy! This program allows students to spend their first year at Temple Rome, and then come to Main Campus in Philadelphia to complete their degree. Temple University Japan
Our location in Tokyo is the oldest and largest foreign university in Japan—and it’s the only foreign full university offering 4-year undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees and PhDs entirely in English. Temple Japan also hosts study abroad programs for students around the world and is the only institution in Japan that operates completely as an American university.
Located in downtown Tokyo, near the popular neighborhoods of Harajuku and Shibuya, Temple Japan provides students with the opportunity to fully immerse in Japanese culture, including professional opportunities. This campus offers a robust internship program, meaning you can gain international experience that will give you a competitive edge when starting your career.
Temple Japan Entry Year
Are you starting your education in Japan? We can’t wait to welcome you to Tokyo! This program allows students to spend their first year at Temple Japan, and come to Main Campus in Philadelphia to complete their degree. Details are sent to students admitted to this program. We encourage students to connect with staff at Temple Japan prior to May 1 by emailing newstudent@tuj.temple.edu.
